  4. Welcome to the forum oldtexasdog, hope you enjoy the company of the great folks here and all the great info. I started with a C-1 pre-amp, an M-500t and a DTL-100 CDP and now as you can see by my signature I have collected a few more pieces. Thanks to the OCCD enablers . Stick around and enjoy the show.

  8. Welcome Stevek, hope you enjoy the company of the great folks here and all the great info.
  9. Sorry to here your loss elgrau.
  10. Both my DTL-100 and DTL-200 seem to play CD-R's better then some of the new music CD's that I have bought lately. The new music CD's (some not all) will skip on the first couple of tracks. I have had some older music CD's that won't play, I burn these and then the burnt CD plays perfectly. It's weird seeing as both these CDP's were built before CD-R's were around.
  11. Thanks for the interesting video clip Audioquest. One could get lost in that collection for a long, long time .
  12. Congrats on the master builder award Balok. Awesome looking CD rack, cheers to you .
  13. Great looking piece of furniture you have made there Balok...Here's for the nice work, I think you should be nominated with the master builder award.
  14. Nice job David, they definately look better now.
  15. Those tweeters almost look like they could be a form of Peerless tweeter.
  16. Boy my collection is tiny compared to what some of you guys have. I have about 100 CD's and growing and about 40 LP's. I had other interests for about 15-20 years, didn't have a decent sound room so I have just started buy music again since I have joined the forum. The great people here are the ones that got my interests going in music again. Have been buying 4-5 new CD's a week for the last 6 months or so.
  17. Looks like something you'd find on another planet.
  18. I would definatly hold out for the correct woofer for your speakers, less chance of changing the sound of your speakers with the original speakers then you don't have to replce all the other woofers.
  19. That's very interesting. One could make a nice steel stand, with the right materials you could make it heavy enough.
  20. The C1 preamp is an excellent pre-amp for the money IMO. Can usually find them on E-Bay or Craiglist. I have had mine since 1985 and other then cleaning all the switches and controls just lately, it has never given me a moments problem.
  21. Here is another place for caps www.madisound.com/about/capacitors.php . I use the Clarity SA series of caps and changed the resistors to mundorf's in a pair of 25 year old Polk Audio 5B's a few months ago and I noticed a big difference in sound quality. Even my daughter said they sounded way better then before.
