  1. Blue Oyster Cult, Ghost Stories was released on April 12, 2024. "With 15 studio albums prior to the release of the interesting and new Ghost Stories, BÖC truly have no reason to provide us with new music, so they didn’t. What I mean by that is that Ghost Stories is less an album and more of a collection of forgotten pre-production tracks from 1977-1984 (Spectres through The Revölution by Night) as well as another cover from 2016. In other words, this is new old music and not new new music." You can read the rest of the review here...

  3. LOL I didn't go back today, so I don't know if they sold or not. The reviews I read were from 2004, so like you said, they're a little long in the tooth. The amps and crossovers probably need refreshing, and I can get a new pair of Martin Logan 1000w's for $1396 includes shipping. I may end up going that route. That said, if a great deal falls in my lap...

  4. Everyone, Hello from Texas! I bought Carver equipment (TFM-35, CT-3) in the early 1990s at the Far East Trader (Navy Exchange, Subic Bay P.I.). They worked well for many years but are in need of some refurbishment at this point. The TF-35 has an issue with the speaker protection relay cycling and I expect needs a re-cap in general. I can't remember if the CT-3 still works, it has been stored for some years (controlled environment). My guess is that it could use a recap as well. I look forward to comparing notes and learning about this gear. Regards, Ernst Land, Jr.

  6. I will admit that I have had the best luck with 2 subs. $800 for one older sub? I wouldn't because that is one piece of gear that can be totally abused.

  7. Judas Priest, Invincible Shield was released on March 6, 2024 "In general, Judas Priest gives us an absolute shred fest with the solos on Invincible Shield. The solos on both "Sons of Thunder" (played by Glenn Tipton) and "Escape from Reality" (performed by Faulkner) really dial up the intensity and showcase just how adept the original masters are at their craft. The songs themselves don't stray from that songwriting formula Judas Priest really honed on those early 80s records and those us pushing 50 will get chills from the nostalgia." 11. I’d say $1,000 for BOTH is a fair price. That is an older model, but near the top of the line at the time they were in the lineup. I recently became an SVS owner, as one of my beloved Velodyne DD18 subs was damaged in the flood, and Velodyne doesn’t seem committed to the sub market any longer. I snagged a SB 4000 (SB= sealed box) for $700 on the local classifieds. It’s a beast with a 13” driver and something like 800 rms. my initial impressions of the SVS are very positive. I’m using it in my 2ch setup right now (I know, sacrilege), as I haven’t started rebuilding the HT yet. It blends quite well with the NhTs, and the Bluetooth app is the bomb for controlling it.
