  1. That TFM45 should run relatively cool considering the mag field power supply unless you're really flogging it for extended periods. What's not clear is if the HR772 will also be running and shedding it's own heat upward. Look, most everybody stacks their equipment. As long as ventilation is adequate you shouldn't have a problem. If you're concerned then put the amp up on some kind of risers.
  2. Wow, that's really cool. I'm sure his wife loves it! Heh...he's not married. It's also the same board The Aristocrats recorded their first album on but at the time the Neve was in a state of disrepair. It worked but had been patched and rigged in order to function. It was found dismantled in a Chicago studio and bought for a song but the reconditioning cost an arm and a leg. It's now in perfect working order -so I'm told- in a private studio. Now then........back to recommendations for Highest Quality Recordings. Read all about it here in words far more eloquent than I'm capable of cobbling together.
  3. I know the guy who now owns the Neve console that Thriller was recorded on.
  4. Let the speaker builders mutual admiration society begin.
  5. Welcome to CarverSite! Matt. Your kind of crazy will be embraced here.
  6. "Power Steering" sounds more involved than it really is. There's a single power supply in the 500t for both channels. Utilizing a single channel simply leaves both halves of the power supply's capacity available for the used channel when the load demands it, usually only for transient peaks. Only one meter will bounce which can look kinda odd when you've been used to seeing both but it's the best solution for 4R speakers.

  9. My 'rack' is a simply coffee table.
  10. I've read that those who've tried it found it unlistenable.
  11. Dude, you have been gone a while. Nice to see you back!
  12. Somebody used to have a signature quote that said 'It should sound like it isn't there.' I always kind of liked that notion.
  13. Number 1: Born In The USA The relentless mediocrity. The unrepentant periodicity of 400+ snare beats without the slightest variation. I'd sooner masturbate with a belt sander.
  14. What stunned me most about the original is how small it actually is.
  15. The wry wit, the biting satire, the painful truth...it's all here. (audio only)
  16. Around here, I'm lucky to find something made by Emerson. Nice score!
  17. Just finished listening the brand new Morglbl album, Tea Time for Punks. Whoa! What a ride! I think it's to be released later this month.
  18. Yes! Just got the masters for the new Morglbl, Tea Time For Punks. Should be out in April or May. As expected it's totally ridiculous; the playing, the humor, the unpredictability, the 'rip your head off' factor.
  19. Sean, dude.........about time you got here. Welcome.
  20. Yep. I hear the corners of the foam kept cracking apart.
