Today was a Polk rebuild day in the workshop/soundroom. Polk's are really a different kind of speaker. Totally different than any speaker I have tore into. Drivers are different and I am thinking that the speaker is divided into to 2 totally different kinds of circuits. One side is wired in series and the other side, in the same cabinet, is wired in parallel. 🤦♂️ Weird. But I guess that is what makes Polks so unique.
Also I discovered tonight that back in 1987 October must have been a leap year month instead of February as you will see in. the photo I attached. Thanks @BarryG and @Daddyjt for helping me get parts around for the project. I really appreciate it. And also I got rid of the abortion tweeters @RodH and filled in the screwed up hole that someone made. Cant believe how people destroy vintage equipment .
I should have the caps this week and a new sound will be heard this weekend. Cant wait to experience these big Polk's. I need to find some big emblems or stickers to cover the repair area and match the 2 speakers.
