  1. What an excellent movie.
  2. Welcome back @SteveFord Hope ya stick around. It truly is a wonderful site with great people.
  3. @Tailgate I have made up a list from doing many of these amps. It is about a 35 cap replacement project that doesn’t take long to do. If you want it I can send it your way. It doesn’t have part numbers, just the location number on the board and uF values.
  4. Hello and welcome to the Carver site. Personally I really like the M200t's and have had quite a few of them. I have had them hooked up to Cerwin Vega PA's, Polk Monitor 10b's, and my little Ohm K2's. They are great little amps in my opinion especially after a good quality recap and voltage setting.
  5. Welcome Hal to the Carver site. I too started my Carver path while single in the Army. (Bamberg) 1987 - 1990. This a great place to be. Enjoy!!!
  6. I also have those tracks that I like to hear on different setups and Godsmack is one of the groups that are at the top of my list along with Candlebox.

  9. There is a topic I posted called “Speaker dilemma” that has a lot of talk about different speakers as well as other topics from others here. I have been going through speaker searching and have experienced a few brands. It is fun to sit back and hook up different kinds and hear the difference.

  12. Welcome to the site Jeffery. I also bought my first Carver in the service in Bamberg Germany in the late 80's. I found this place and had Greg @ Nelionaudio do his magic. Lots of information here and people to help if you want to take it on yourself.

    SPEAKER DILEMMA

I finished up the mechanical aspects of the SDA’s last night and listened to some music. Everything works and sounds great. Thanks to @Daddyjtand @BarryG for furnishing some parts. I really do appreciate it and I am excited to see what these really sound like with better placement.

    SPEAKER DILEMMA

Today was a Polk rebuild day in the workshop/soundroom. Polk's are really a different kind of speaker. Totally different than any speaker I have tore into. Drivers are different and I am thinking that the speaker is divided into to 2 totally different kinds of circuits. One side is wired in series and the other side, in the same cabinet, is wired in parallel. 🤦‍♂️ Weird. But I guess that is what makes Polks so unique. Also I discovered tonight that back in 1987 October must have been a leap year month instead of February as you will see in. the photo I attached. Thanks @BarryG and @Daddyjt for helping me get parts around for the project. I really appreciate it. And also I got rid of the abortion tweeters @RodH and filled in the screwed up hole that someone made. Cant believe how people destroy vintage equipment . I should have the caps this week and a new sound will be heard this weekend. Cant wait to experience these big Polk's. I need to find some big emblems or stickers to cover the repair area and match the 2 speakers.
  17. It is an AC/DC night.

    Gritting my teeth

I remember having an RCA console and my mom would put many LP's on top of each other and let them play.
  19. Welcome to the Carver site. There is plenty of knowledge here to help you rebuild your amp. Great group of people willing to help.
