My wife and I arrived this afternoon and with the help of Ed we got settled in and made it to the cookout. Great food and great people together enjoying life, food, music and friendship that has been built over the years. Definitely a fun and kind group of people.

So what brand has very good to best subwoofer out there?

@AndrewJohn I have seen very little DJ stuff in my area. But my wife likes Bose speakers so I have located 3 sets to go look at while taking a nice little road trip. Probably add them to the living room surround for her and box up the Yamaha's for selling later. 141 2.2 and SA1000. These are very different than any Bose I have ever seen but they need foam and clean up. But for 50 doll hairs? I'll try them for TV use.

Hey buddy. Glad you could make it. Yes everyone, this is a very good friend of mine that I got hooked on Carver gear. I work with him everyday and talk audio stuff most of the time. Welcome Greg and soon some of the admins will chime in and give you a warm welcome. This is a great site and plenty of great people here to help you in your OCCD journey.

I recently finished recapping my second M200t and decided to move the Cerwin Vegas out and hook up the Polk Monitor 10A for a change. I am really starting to like the sound of these little speakers. Its amazing the bass that comes out of these with just (2) 6.5 inch drivers and a passive speaker. The sound is totally different then the Vega's and I'm not changing my mind about my Vega's because they definitely have their place in one of my rooms and for certain music. But the idea of opening up and listening to a variety of speakers is really a plus when deciding what kind of speaker to buy. But then again I have seen a few of you with more than a few pairs and now I know why.

You have a great group of people here to help your every (Carver) want, need, and inquiry. My 4.0 is connected to these Cerwin Vega's but not all at once. And I prefer these types. Old school vintage between 50 and 150 doll hairs for the pair. I also have some Polk Audio's that sound really nice but need to be very close to the wall as @Brian_at_HHH has stated. I also just picked up some RTR's that I am about ready to try as well. But then again I am not a person that likes to spend tons of money on speakers as you can see.

Welcome to the Carversite Cornfarmer. Nice receiver you have there. I have the MXR150 and from old age it was acting up once in awhile so I found Greg at Nelionaudio and he did his magic and life is good. Enjoy the site and absorb all the information that is available here. There is PLENTY!!!!

I did the same when I finished the basement.

Welcome Crittenden to this wonderful Carversite. There are plenty of resources and repair guys here to take care of you. I had my MXR150 repaired by Greg at Nelion audio in Michigan. You will hear from the admins and others shortly welcoming you and making suggestions.
