  1. This song written by Chicago's Peter Cetera has always been a favorite of mine. Hard to beat the haunting beautiful harmonies by Jardine, WIlson and Wilson. Note that there is a much better quality recording of Wishing You Were Here on Chicago VII but this live version recorded in 1974 has more of an emotional impact for me. RIP Terry Kath
  2. Dave Uhrich is a mostly unknown to the public and underappreciated Chicago rock/metal/fusion guitarist and music teacher. His original songs can be bluesy, tuneful, edgy and humerous, and he can shred with the best of them.
  3. This looses it's dynamics on YouTube (and it's recorded live in an open air venue) but the version I have from the No BS Brass Band CD Brass Knuckles kicks brass!
  4. I've heard many versions of the Concierto de Aranjuez, most by guitar and orchestra, and of course Miles Davis' small jazz combo recording on Sketches of Spain. This version is as emotionally connected as the best of them. Thanks for sharing AJ!
  5. I was an Army spec 5 stationed at the Nevada Test Site when Crime of the Century was released. Heard it at Garehime Music in Vegas on my usual weekend run into town and had to buy it, and it's still a regular on my play list. At the time my system was a Technics SL-1200 turntable (still my primary TT), Pioneer SA-8500 integrated amp and CT-F6161 cassette deck, with a pair of Sansui 15" 5-way "kabuki" speakers (what was I thinking?).
  6. Nice collection of gear Jeff. Glad you finally came out of the closet. We love gear photos so please post some in Member Systems.
  7. Not that I am aware of. I posted some info and photos of the Carver guitar amp (GA-250) and preamp (GP-1) here:
  8. Howdy Nick and welcome to the forum. Nice to have you on board. Congrats on your purchases.
  9. Bond, James Bond. Shaken, not stirred. Connery did it best. Would love to see Shooter's Bob Lee Swagger on the big screen though I suspect I'd be disappointed.
  10. I was an early adopter of CDs but I never stopped collecting vinyl. I'm old and lazy now so these days I listen to mostly CDs just because it's more convenient.
  11. I understand the "joke". I was confused as to why you would think the scenario was funny.
  12. Howdy Kenny and welcome to the forum. Sorry it took a problem to bring you here. I assume the amp you purchased was listed as working. If so you should contact the seller and voice your displeasure. If the seller doesn't respond, or isn't willing to negotiate, contact ebay. They almost always side with the buyer when an iten is "not as listed".

    Tranya for everyone!!!
  14. Watermelon Man - composed and performed by Herbie Hancock (1962), covered by Mongo Santamaría (1963)
  15. Howdy@PrISMand welcome to the forum. Thanks for the intro. It's great to have you on board. Note that certain amps pair better with certain speakers, so it's best to audition them together if possible. Also note that the TFM-42 and it's siblings (TFM-4.0, TFM-45) are better at driving difficult loads than the M-500t.
  16. Howdy Bevador1 and welcome to the forum. Sorry that it took a problem with your gear to get you here. Your amp is pushing 30 years old and needs some tlc. There are plenty of great techs here who can take care of that for you. While you are here please tell us about yourself, your taste in music, gear you've owned, hobbies, work experience, etc.
  17. If you'd like to be exposed to lots of great bassists in one place check out The Deepest End - Live In Concert, Gov't Mule's 2003 tribute to their late bassist Allan Woody. Guest bassists are Jack Casady, Les Claypool, Jason Newsted, George Porter, Jr., Dave Schools, Roger Glover, Mike Gordon, Paul Jackson, Conrad Lozano, Will Lee, Greg Rzab, Rob Wasserman and Victor Wooten.
  18. Two of the best practitioners of double bass - Ray Brown and Niels-Henning ϴrsted Pedersen - with piano master Oscar Peterson
  19. Lake Street Dive has lots of fun doing covers. These are a few of my favorites:
