  1. Yes sir that's exactly how it works. If for instance you plug in the 100hz card it sends 100hz and up to the high side and 100hz and below to the subs. Vacuum tube amps crossover at a different point than solid state amps. Something to do with their speaker output taps. A vacuum Tube amp is around 100k ohms and SS is around 10k to 33k ohms. This changes the crossover point. Example: one of my cards crosses over at 78hz with a Vacuum tube amp and the same card crosses over at 350hz with a solid state amp. So Mark made me several cards to cover vac vs ss.
  2. I have two DQ-LP1's and use them for all the time. They are very handy. Mark Lucas did his magic and repurposed the center channel outputs so that I can plug in different crossovers that he made up for me. Super handy!
  3. You can never go wrong with more subs. IMHO😁
  4. Yep that is exactly the one I was talking about. Dude is crazy but I like his style.
  5. I saw a picture a few years back where a guy poured his basement floor and formed the concrete into ports and mounted some kind of huge subs down under the floor. Cant remember the details but it was pretty elaborate and crazy looking. Bob told a story one time about doing some R&D work for Boeing. The made a sub woofer about the size of a garage door and used hydraulic cylinders to pulse it. Something to do with using it in the wind tunnel.😬

  7. Welcome Charles! And get busy obtaining novice status......We want pics of that system!!!!😁
  8. I have a Denon-103 cartridge. Where do I find info on cartridge loading? Or does anyone know off the top of your head what it needs to be set at. I'm playing with my fresh Nelion recapped Sunfire vtcc with a sweet new Nelion phono board. The options are 22, 47, 150, 470, 47k. I'm going to make a post with pics and give a review coming up soon.
  9. I have some DQ-20's that are 1987 model. Had to get new foam surrounds a few years back but other than that they sound like brand new. Also had a 1993 Carver amp recapped last month and 99% of everything was still in spec. Glad to have you here!
  10. Welcome Max! We love to drool over everyone's system so post up them pics friend!
  11. Cool speaker wire wall plug in, nice clean and functional. So now I have to ask which speaker sounds better?😁

    SPEAKER DILEMMA

Well the first thing that popped in my pea brain when you mention Cerwin Vegas is BASS! The tower speaks you showed will probably have more finesse with less glass shattering bass. That's my .03 worth but I will need a penny of change back....lol I love the detail of my DQ-20's but have to say the Amazings have a way of filling the whole room up with music even at low listening levels.
  14. Count Lori Ann and myself for Loft 1. I may or may not be proudly representing a stack of Kingman's Phase Linear gear! WooHoo!
