Kick back and relax, knowing you've found a place where you can talk audio with people who's primary listening habits do NOT include mp3 and ear-buds. Enjoy the wealth of knowledgeable members her - ask any questions you want, and prepare yourself for the barrage of requests for photos of your system:-) Mark

fill35U 1,846 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Welcome to theCarversite, Sean! You've got a couple of nice amps there! What did Rolland say when you mentioned the noises to him?
danowood 2,167 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Welcome to the carver site Sean! You have picked some of the best carver gear for your listening pleasure.
BluesMan57 1,411 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Welcome to the site! Sean. Glad to have you. Still rocking the Large Advents myself in my 2 channel system......
zumbini 6,147 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Howdy Sean and welcome to the forum. Nice to have you on board. Rolland is a stand-up guy. If he messed something up I'm sure he'll stand behind it. Can you be more specific about the hum? Does it emanate from the amp, the speakers, or both? Is it mainly 60/120Hz or does it have a higher frequency component? Are all of your components powered by the same phase of your main breaker panel? Are you mixing grounded equipment (3-wire) with ungrounded equipment (2-wire)? About the thump, are you turning the amps on last and turning them off first? 1
