  2. Some sunfire amplifiers are equipped with a switch on the BOTTOM of the amp, directly under the meter. I switches between extremely dim and ridiculously dim. It's hard to get to and you may need a screw driver to move it. Your amp may not have this switch. You are lucky the lamp still comes on. Most of them have burned out by now.

  5. In case anyone isn't aware, season 2 of Landman started today. Without posting any spoilers, if the season continues and builds at this level, it will be great.

  8. Welcome @Carsten Frandsen, glad you found us! What kind of modifications did you do to your m200t? Sounds like a cool project.
  9. Recently purchased an early model cinema grand in fair condition from an estate sale. It is clean inside with a few marks on the exterior. No crystal base, working great. Loving it in my home theater setup, but the meter lamp isn't working properly. Only seems to produce a narrow, dim, gold toned glow. Is it lamp malfunction, or can it be adjusted?
  10. I'm going to have to look up Billy on YouTube; never heard of him before now...
  11. Worth the watch - talent is all kinds of awesome!

  17. Welcome to the Carver Site!
  18. YOWZER! That is indeed deterioration! I can honestly say I have not seen any of my CDs look like that. I will keep an eye out on the age of my CDs. I have some new ones (purchased in the last year or so) that I will give a play to on the Carver and see what happens. Thank you for the suggestion, Brian! EDIT: Following up to this, I played two(2) CDs that I purchased last May and only been played a couple of times in the Emotiva. Both played completely from begin->end without a skip, bobble, hiccup. That is indeed another data point on this thread. EDIT 2: Well, THAT was short-lived. I replayed the 2nd disc and found a couple of skips (which is a shame, cause I really like "The Milagro Beanfield War" by Dave Grusin). "New" pickup ordered. Should be here by Monday and off to High-Tech Audio in Stevenson, WA same day. 😢
  19. This may not be relevant to the mechanics specifically. I have been re-ripping my CDs to FLAC lately, and I have uncovered quite a few of them that just could not be read and fail. Ever hear of CD deterioration? Yes, it exists, see these discs. Consider your test media. However, you did mention specific track failure points.
  20. Welcome to the "Carver Owners on Crack" group -- ha! I owned my first C-1 and a single M500t back in 1987. Then I did a stupid thing and sold it off to go home theater after getting married. I have since come back around, this time for another C-1, and a pair of M500t fully restored by Nelion, and a TX-11a Tuner. Completely satisfied once again. There is lots of of cool audio out there, but its hard to convince me to chase anything else! Glad to have you in the group!
  21. When I first read this, I read is a 20 second long recording, and did some head scratching before I figgered out is was his 22nd recording. Then I uttered "what a dumbass," and I wasn't referring to the author.
