  2. HI, I'm Mic Check, yea that's right. Officially Michael Check I prefer to work on my own stuff, I'm cheap when it comes to repairs or upgrades that I can do myself. I'll try and research before I ask a repeated question. Mic

  3. That is so funny. When we were kids in Central WI, we would do anything to play basketball in the winter. We would break into school gyms, do anything to play inside. But when the authorities got on to us, we were relegated back to our driveway and it looked exactly like that. We would diligently shovel the drive early, hope that it dried quickly and have buddies over to play. Everyone brought their ball and we kept them inside the house and rotated them so they would continue to bounce in the cold. When the snow banks got high enough we could slam dunk. No video games back then.

  5. And I love the Pioneer reverb with the cool 3D light effect. I just picked one of those up for repair recently - a neat unit.

  7. Bait and switch or counterfeit products? 3rd request has been sent to stop this advertising. They will actually collect the customers money, before coming back with a bait and switch practice. Our attorney was copied in the last request. Why do we sell direct today? The good reasons are many. https://www.usatubeaudio.com/brand/bob-carver/

  10. Welcome, D5! Sounds like several things going on there. Tracking down these issues is not for the faint of heart. From my experience, it sounds like you have a $300-$400 repair bill on that one. I'm near Philadelphia, in NJ. My wife will be in Mass this weekend. If you could get it to her, I could have it up and running in a few weeks. Since I have a couple of working units for parts, I should be able to get it going for minimal cost. Message me if that is of interest.

  11. ...felt like that one night I had, back in college..., followed by preventative penicillin. Yet, people are seduced by them. LOL... I've met some audio con men that make you want to shower and scrub with an SOS pad. Could make a short list of those who harmed the hobby or took it so low, that others could attack it unfairly with ease. Audio is the best hobby on earth, imho.. Know who you are dealing with. Google search them before giving up your money. Buyer beware and you will have more enjoyment and few disappointments.

  12. Jim has a point, and a very good one. Check out Audio Karma, and do a search on "fraud"..., and you might come up with a number of the "usual suspects." Seriously, I did. Then, do the google search on their name, and see precisely what Jim is talking about. A very sad state when you consider all the names of note and notoriety, and ultimately, "infamy." When one goes to AXPONA, and sees these characters, walking around - pompous - and with an entourage of followers taken in by their con game..., one has to shake their head at the corruption. I've actually had to turn around and walk away from more than one of these guys, at an audio event where they keep getting invited to "speak" like they are worthy. ...felt like that one night I had, back in college..., followed by preventative penicillin. Yet, people are seduced by them.

  13. Here is a word of advice from a view inside this niche market. Anyone you deal with in audio who is selling anything or promotes themselves as an industry insider is suspect of being a scam artist. Do a Google search for their name and see how many scams they have ran in the past, and how many times they have been arrested before giving them $1. The longer they have been "in the business" the less you should trust them. The "Audio Mafia" Mark Levinson speaks of is real. Some of these audio scam people must enjoy going to court, judging by the length of their arrest records. I've only been with Bob for 2 years. Coming from aerospace, the level of snakes and deception in audio is like a wild west snake oil convention in comparison. I find it very disturbing. Many of the scam artist are quite old and will likely be spending their last days back in court defending themselves over deceptive business practices yet again. I would not recommend spending one dollar without a google search of arrest records for any audio salesman/owner/manufacturer or whoever you consider dealing with. Honestly, save yourself the headache and search their names and arrest records before buying anything audio related or doing any business at all in audio. It only takes a few seconds and can save you money and frustration. Jim Clark Director of Operation Bob Carver LLC. 815 985 3557

  14. A stirring song for those who lived through it, at whatever proximity/distance, the world was shrinking, when the walls were cracking. And joyously danceable..even now.
