I shared a website with Dean Nissen (the last factory service manager at Phase Linear's Lynnwood, Washington location). I worked with Dean for 25+ years restoring Phase Linear gear. The last 10 years at Boeing, I handled the calibration procedure/software release process (after the merger with McDonnell Douglas) for all the Boeing calibration laboratories throughout the U.S.A. There are approx. 350+ technicians and 1.2 million pieces of test equipment (in Boeing's asset management system). The procedure index started out with approximately 20,000 procedures. We consolidated it down to approx. 10,000 procedures. Additionally, we had approximately 2,000 software documents. Previous to working for Boeing, I worked for Northwest Calibration Systems and Pacific Testing Labs. Before that, I also owned a recording studio, did some live sound and a little radio work....... I read the software PDS docs every day!!! Carter I tracked a lot of Boeing documents to establish requirements for our calibration procedures while I worked at Boeing. There was no one else like me in metrology who did that. They included tool drawings, engineering drawings, facilities documents, process specs, etc. Utilizing PSDS, Redars, Edcoms, Documentum, etc. I also tracked national and international standards via IHS (via an automatic notification system) . I proposed to management that we build out the calibration procedure index to have tie-ins not only to the software documents but to these other documents as well. This was to ensure that the calibration technicians always working to the latest revisions. When I left there were some procedures with out-of-date Boeing authoritative requirements (reference material) in them. I am not sure how far they got with it as I was working on it just before I retired. No one else had the same passion for the job as I did. I wish I was still at Boeing, as I now have a list of industry standards related to audio that I could have obtained for free like you can now. 2

Wayne, Well that isn't quite true. I do know a lot about Bob Carver and Phase Linear. However, it is primarily throughout his earlier years and at Phase Linear until he left in the spring of 1978. I have very little knowledge of his later years at Carver, Sunfire, etc. D. Ladely knows more about Bob than anybody and has known him since they first met at the University of Washington Physics department in 1962. Dave and Bob probably still see each other almost on a daily basis. Bob's life story would make a fascinating book. Bob's mom was Tina Carver a "B" grade film star. She also did some tv shows late in her career. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0142588/ If my memory serves me correct, D. Ladely helped create a family tree either on ancestry dot com or genealogybank dot com under the name Tina J. Carver. In it one can find some interesting details about Bob you will not find anywhere else. Ed 1
