What about if the approach is "by platform"..., meaning, the footprint of these amps is close, right? (I'm not going and measuring mine at the moment..., but if the length and width is fairly standard, and the height, perhaps, for manufacturing simplicity, the design is 1x, 2x, or 3x height? Yes, I know the m500 is a tad taller, but may be close enough? What I'm thinking, @Ar9Jim, is if you made a standard cover option for SS gear, and sell it for 1-component, 2-component, or 3-component heights. Then put the Carver logo on the front, centered. Let buyers choose based on how tall their stack is in terms of the number of components high, they have in their stack. Just in general, though, for me, my rack is pretty tight, I couldn't slip them off and on easily. However, for anyone that has their stack on top of a piece of furniture, like, say a sideboard or table or?, they could easily cover and uncover their stack. ...just a thought, on how to make this simple, so you don't have to create a cover unique to each SS amp made. ...the issues? I see: 1. the m500 is slightly taller, as noted above. 2. the m500 has optional handles, changing the width - I would ignore this... 3. Some of the TFM amps (the 55 and 35, have optional handles affecting width. 4. Some components, like the SD/A 390t also have optional handles. 5. Some of the black faced components are taller than amps, e.g., a Tape Deck, 6. Some components have different depths, e.g., the SD/A 490t - easily hidden, so not really an issue. If volume (clarifying: the number of units!, not the audio volume LoL) is low, none of these would prevent a standardized amp cover from meeting the needs of a lot of amp owners. Worthless information, I'm sure - just a few thoughts worth absolutely nothing.3 points

I'd be interested in covers assuming reasonable pricing. In my mind, they wouldn't need to be anything fancy. Just a light cloth shield (that's washable) to keep dust at bay. Up here in the northeast it's not uncommon for homes to have forced hot-air heating. No matter how many filters are installed, it seems dust gets evenly distributed everywhere. And it's worse if you have pets. And regarding stacking, I'm re-thinking that. I have always stacked/racked my equipment - probably a holdover from my radio/recording studio days, but I keep thinking about a 2" floating walnut or cherry shelf where I could see/display the pieces. I think it would look striking. So a cover for the amp(s) and preamp would be a nice-to-have.2 points

I don't stop listening long enough to need an amp cover, personally.2 points

I personally like looking at my amps, naked, out in the open (the amps, that is). My wife, on the other hand, would probably be all for covering them up when not in use.2 points

Excellent feedback. Thanks guys. It's great to have a group of people to bounce ideas around with. We are a small company and the multiple points of view at TCS are appreciated. Your thoughts and opinions are similar to the focus groups leveraged in larger companies. Thank for sharing your thoughts as always.2 points

It's been an exceptional experience and pleasure to have had Barry as part of this community. Spending time on the phone with him during the final weeks, for me, is only exceeded by meeting first Melissa @Eliothei, and now you, @RebeccaB It's interesting to see his legacy and connections continue. And you both are welcome here, anytime to share memories and/or grieve as a part of the community. Barry knew, and spoke with Bob Carver himself, as he had that relationship. Bob called him in the hospital as coordinated with @Ar9Jim at the time. While Bob is not a member of this site as he is too busy - know that the connection Barry had with Bob Carver and this community rand very very deep. He's missed. As for your question, Yes, the FS/WTB forum is the right place. Typically, when selling a list of gear, and this is my suggestion, to simplify it for you and Melissa, Please inventory a list of the gear, Carver and non-carver that you want to list here. Put that list in one thread, title it appropriately as Barry's Estate Sale or ? We have a method for sending Private Messages on the forum. Invite people to send you PM's (see the little "letter mail" icon at the top right of the screen) In your thread, invite people to show interest in some pieces by private message. Private messages can be sent to both you and Melissa, if you like - in the To field, two addresses can be added. Then, as you sell an item, I suggest you post an updated list periodically maybe daily, as things sell, annotating the items that you sold. by putting SOLD after the line item in the list. Please just ask if I'm not clear above. I think this is the best way to avoid confusion (PM's will reduce super long threads) and effort to post separate items in separate threads. It is how others have done this in the past, as well (e.g., @Rob is moving soon, and liquidated much gear this way. You can also "bump" a post if activity declines (we'll watch for that too, to keep it active). Great to hear from Barry's family, you are part of this Carver community now, too. Just ask, if I can help..., I may be interested in some items Barry told me about in the back of his closet. And, as Melissa knows, I have a Turntable from his collection that I enjoy. 😉 One last thing, if you need ideas on pricing, please just ask - it is subjective, of course, and dependent on condition. Most here are fair people - and would want to help Melissa and her family.2 points

After servicing quite a few Sunfires, I've noticed their shortcomings as well as areas which can be improved. I am currently working on a relatively universal upgrade for Sunfire AMPs. The upgrade will include updates to the amplifier circuits and tracking down converter for more power, better durability and much better soundstage.1 point

Hello my name is Rebecca Baldwin. Many of you knew my Uncle Barry Galvin who passed away last May. I'm here posting on behalf of his whole family we want to thank all of you for your support for him throughout his life he always spoke highly of of the friendships he had among his fellow Carver aficionados. I know that your collective love of music and sound kept his spirit going. We all miss him dearly but are glad he is no longer suffering. Although we are all still grieving for our loss we are working on sorting out his collection of sound equipment and electric parts. If it is ok with the admins I was hoping to post a list of the items in his collection to sell on the site. We want if possible for them to go to people who can use, fix and enjoy them. As you know Barry left behind one daughter Melissa and 2 grandsons Jacob and Jeremiah, money from the sale of the items will go to help them. Again thank you all for being there for Barry we really appreciate it. Thank you, Rebecca1 point

Greetings, Came here looking for information and insight on the Carver TFM-35x Amplifier. Considering a re-cap on my original, 1995 device which triggers the protect mode cycle at only about 25-35% volume. A service manual would certainly be helpful, if there is such.1 point

It has come to our attention that counterfeit Bob Carver amplifiers have been sold. Some counterfeit Black Magic 350s are known to have been sold by former dealers that are not covered by Bob Carver / BC Audio in any way. Those without a sales receipt from Bob Carver/BC Audio and not in our records after FEB 2022 have likely been a scam victim. We only sell direct to the customer. Please be warned that genuine Bob Carver products that carry our warranty and service are only sold directly by Bob Carver Corp. Those offering new products sold independently from our customer direct sales model are fraudulent and have no warranty responsibility from Bob Carver LLC.. Any products purchased since Feb 2022 outside our direct sales model may be a fraud. We have complete records of our product liabilities and register our customers warranty at the time of purchase. We know the quality of the products we sell. We can not be held accountable for frauds sold by former dealers acting fraudulently as agents, they lied to you. Please be aware. If you don't have a receipt from Bob Carver/ BC Audio and not in our records data base, you were likely a victim of the audio scam artist that are so common in this industry today. Some dealers have continued to advertise our products in efforts to bait and switch customers looking for genuine Bob Carver products. More scam artist. Be careful of frauds. High end audio is full of snakes and criminals that deceive people as a way of life. I've met a few. It's truly a wild west of voodoo science and opportunist worse than used car salesmen (My apologies to used car salesmen). Do Google searches and or background checks on people before spending your money. Buy direct from the manufacturer if you can. There are many who are honest, but many who are not.. Hear the products in your home to sort through the deep BS that is prevalent today. Mark Levinson refers to "the Audio Mafia" for good reason. Some of the most smooth talking salesmen are some of the lowest forms of human you will meet. They will stop at nothing to get your money, other than a home trial without a restocking fee. They have no concern for causing harm to Bob Carver or our customers, selling products outside our financial benefit, insurance or warrantee coverage. If you feel you may have been a victim, send a copy of your receipt for verification with our warrantee registration. If you wish to take legal action over an unauthorized dealer sale we will be happy to provide documentation. Beware. Hello, We have been offering black amplifier covers for tube amps and customers like them. Obviously tube amps are not stackable and dusting them is not so simple. There was an Email asking if we had covers for the vintage M-500. We are not sure that a cover for vintage SS amps that are stackable is worth the effort. What says TCS focus group? Any suspected interest in a cover for M1.0t or M500 with the vintage CARVER logo and model # embroidered on the front?1 point

Welcome to the site, @SWBoss, glad you found us. this is the place with lots of information. I had a TFM-35x as one of my first amps. Great little amp. Did you check the Manuals Library for the service manual? Check out the menu at the top of the home page, click on manuals, and you should find it there.1 point

Great idea. some simple percale, flannel, or even terry or light material (like what bed sheets are made of, for the top, sides, and back of the cover. The front might be something more interesting like quilted or? to dress up the background of the Bob Carver logo. ...in thinking about this - the back needs some flexibility stretch or elasticity, to deal with all the cabling and rats-nests we have acrued over the years.1 point

My thoughts... On a tube amp, they make some sense, but the other Carver amps (maybe with the exception of the M-400), they are often stacked. I have an M-1.0t, M-0.5t, M-500t, and several of the TFMs; I can see any application from my perspective. I couldn't use them even if I wanted as the amps are always stacked. Does anone stack an M-400? There may be an application there.1 point

^This. Not someone trying to take advantage of our mutual grief. This is my cousin. I give her great respect, she was able to post on here what I could not bring myself to do. In regards to the equipment for sale if she is allowed to post, I will be going up in a few weeks to retrieve my dad's car and empty the storage unit. There. Are. Many. MANY. Pieces of equipment. Whatever is sold or spoken for, I will mail personally when I get up there in town so that my cousin does not have to. Anything that does not sell will be sold at a local electronics shop. I will hate doing that, but I cannot afford to keep the storage unit. Nor do I have space for it at my home in Tennessee. I would much rather all of his equipment go to y'all in his favorite community. Buying in bulk is also an option if you live close enough to pick it up. Thanks so much. ❤️ Melissa1 point

Thanks for letting me onto the site. I had the C-9 and the M400 way back when they were introduced. Today with all of the talk about the BACCH system I purchased a SH C-9 only to find that it does not work. Who does the best rebuilds? I would also want the RCA plugs replaced. Thanks in advance for your help!!1 point

If you have followed this thread you can see the uncontrolled / untraceable nature of past attempts at building Bob Carver tube amps under license by others. This is why we will be discontinuing any/all untraceable products from the past. Any product shipped by our company has testing and QC performed in Rockford before going directly to our customer. All products are registered into our warranty tracking system at the time of purchase. Each amplifier is supplied with a printed copy of the final operation test results for that unit S/N.. A copy is kept on file at the factory for future reference.1 point

Hi Bob, There is a connection making traceability impossible and liability uncertain. I started working with Bob when the companies were founded in 2022. I found a mess. There were several (at least 4) failed attempts at building Bob's tube amp designs under license that were "blips on the screen" or "flashes in the pan" that didn't survive, but every failed attempt took a toll on the company image. Personally, I've updated more 275's in support of the last failed attempt, than I care to remember, in an effort to prevent further damage to Bob's legacy after the last attempt crashed 2 years ago, while starting a new company. I have no connection to the last attempt, the legacy is my priority here. I can see how baggage from the past weighs heavy on the future probabilities of success. Just the service calls on 50 years products is a part time job that generates no income for today. Product line wise, I'm seriously considering discontinuing the previous tube amp products entirely and drawing a hard line between Bob Carver of the past, in the various forms, and this time of Bob and myself working together. I'm seeing no choice but to have a hard stop from the past, and shed this baggage/responsibility as much as possible. The damage to the legacy was done. I can't undo the repeated failed attempts in the past. All we can do is look forward and do right by the legacy and customers. Today we track everything. We know where every single product is located that is under our warranty. We know our customers. I know every unit that is under our product liability coverage. The untraceable past is what it is. It's an unknown that is uncalculatable. Feb 2022 to present is my concern. Before that date I will be giving out phone numbers to the Glass Audio partners. They can clean up their own mess or not, but selling those old untraceable products is coming to a halt.1 point
