  1. The right one is James Westphall, and the left is Dr Kenneth Noisewater...;-)
  2. So the trip turned out to be 4 hours each way, but the speakers were in such GREAT condition, I didn't care. I got back to my hotel at 1:30 am, and had to be to work at 6am. I moved the kappas to a luggage rack to get them into the room for safe keeping for the rest of the week. (Wonder what the maid thought...:->)
  3. Very nice work, Bryan:-)
  4. LOL! phuk Mark, you want to spend $1,100 dollars? Go out and get the RPM 5.1 V2 Lol - for $1,400 there's a set of kappa 9s in Bend OR, which is 3.5 hours from where I'll be training in Yakima in a week... Must resist temptation....
  5. Nice:-) so well hear from Gene in a couple weeks:-) great score brutha!
  6. You certainly can clean the pots, although they usually stay pretty good (not to mention, you'll be replacing the voltage pot and both bias trim pots with the mkII upgrade)Here is the current parts list:http://thecarversite.com/yetanotherforum/default.aspx?g=posts&m=151295#post151295Note that you will need to order a few of the transistors from BD Enterprises (you can get your sankens from them too - they're a trusted source), your LEDs from lighthouse, binding posts and RCAs from wherever you choose (I use Parts Express), and everything else from Mouser. We are here if (when) you need help:-)
  7. Welcome aboard Paul! That's a nice looking setup:-) the 500t is an excellent amp - I think it's pretty hard to ask for a better all-around performer. Sounds like a mkII upgrade will be just the ticket for your maggies. This is a fun place to be, with something for just about everyone.
  8. Ron, I think that sounds like a great sub for HT. For music, I personally prefer a 10" or maybe 12" sub, as I have found them to sound "quicker" and "tighter", and able to respond to the transients of music better. FWIW, I think music is much more demanding of a quality sub, than HT. IIWM, I'd go with the 12" version for music... http://www.parts-express.com/dayton-audio-t1204k-12-titanic-mk-4-500-watt-rms-subwoofer-kit--300-762 Plus, you'll save a few $....:-)
  9. Thought you already had the 220 gram Rumours album? Not Rumors - this one...
  10. Two more Floyd albums:-) and couldn't pass up Rumors (even though I'm sure it won't compete with the DVD Audio...)
  11. No Floyd? Which Floyd albums are you looking for again? Pretty much all of them...:-( the only PF I have on vinyl is DSOTM and Wish You Were Here...
  12. No Pink Floyd, but a couple nice 180 gram classics, and a MOFI trip back to the highschool days:-)
  13. Welcome aboard shortcake. Glad you are sticking a toe under the "fence", so to speak. I too am an unabashed bass lover - what are some of your favorite tracks? If I want to show off, I like Janet Jackson's Goin' Deep, Deadmou5 Superliminal, or Bela Flek's Blue Bop. Glad you're here!
  14. Those look great Bryan! I'll have your package in the mail by Wednesday, AT THE LATEST!!!
  15. Welcome aboard, Kennett. You are in great hands with Greg - He is a true class act, and he will turn your 1.0t into a thing of beauty.
  16. Nice acquisition, Bryan... I've always had a soft spot for the old Polks:-) The 500t will be a great match for those:-)
  17. Welcome aboard - glad you found us! I think you'll fit right in here:-)

"A fool and his money were lucky to get together in the first place" ~ Gordon Gekko I know, a movie quote -- but so true!
  19. Welcome! If you love audio and good people, this is the place. What kind of gear do you run? (A picture is worth 1,000 words!) Mark
  20. There are some very nice (and expen$ive) in-wall options. That being said, I've never been a fan of in-walls for anything other than surround duty or background listening. First, it's usually difficult to mount them low enough for an optimal listening experience - they most often end up 5+ feet off the floor. Second, you have no ability to move them closer to, or away from the wall, or toe them in or out, etc... And lastly, you often end up with some nasty resonance within the wall itself, that is very difficult to tame. However, if it IS your only option....:-)
  21. Just like vinyl, this is another rabbit hole:-) Enjoy the trip!
  22. I see a PF in there:-) is it a special edition?
  23. Anxiously awaiting Justified starting up again...!
