I found some Chuck Loeb on minidisc in my collection I didn’t know I had so after listening to it I went and bought three more cds from iTunes.......grin

I see someone has a passion for cassette decks......grin. That is a very nice setup! I like the idea of your “he shed”. I would enjoy that too, just to quietly sit and listen all day long......grin. Thank you for the pics!

Thank you Kevin for the information! I had a set of 901s in the 80’s. I liked them, just didn’t have the power to drive them and the right room setup for them. I had a pair of JBL’s don’t remember what model they were. Nice 3-way speakers I found at a garage sale for $25.00 for the pair. Again, no power to drive them so not sure what they sounded like. i guess I do need to branch out to other brands and experience them.......grin Thank you for the additional info Sk1bum! I will look into the other brands and see what is available to audition locally and the local ads......grin

Question: do some of you here with multiple pairs of speakers and amps find that certain amps sound better with certain speakers? I only own one brand of speakers but was curious about different amps and my speaker combos. I am thinking about trying my amps one at a time with my speakers and the same music as a demo to see if there is any difference.

Welcome to the site! I would hook up the equipment in different combinations and listen to a few tracks and see what sounds best to you. If you are going to keep all your equipment (for any future systems......read OCCD here......grin) I would refurbish it so you can really enjoy it. I agree with Sk1bum, the C-1 and 4000 series preamps sound great when refurbished and the M500t amplifier as well. I own those same pieces and enjoy them. Experiment and see what you think.......grin

Can you sell that idea and make money as a pest control company?.......grin

By some of Kingman’s gear, can’t go wrong there. Excellent gear in great condition.....grin

After you enjoy them for a while, you might want to get them refurbished so they will last a while and sound great! Enjoy the site and if you have any questions, just ask. I was noticing that in the different categories we don’t have all the equipment listed in them, such as no category for M200t in the amplifiers section. Others are missing too. Could these be included in the proper sections?

And what frequency does that go down to? 1000?.....grin

Welcome CT12! The 490t is a nice player. I have one that I am going to recap. Reason is, caps are 30 years old, not because it sounds bad. All gear that old needs it. And, my experience has been it sounds better after a recap. YMMV. Enjoy the site and if you have questions, ask!
